Collette Johnson

Chiropractor

Collette graduated from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic at the University……..

Collette graduated from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic at the University of South Wales in July 2014 and immediately started work at Risca Chiropractic. Since graduating Collette has taken over the Clinic at Risca Chiropractic in 2016. She hopes to continue to grow the clinic by bringing more disciplines to the clinic in the near future.

Since graduating Collette has completed many further courses such as Kinesiology taping, dry needling with the BMAS, started her ICCSP sports chiropractic qualification plus many more. She is always attending local talks and National Conferences to broaden her knowledge and keep her skills up to date with the most recent evidence based research for treatment.

Collette has always been a keen sports person from a young age playing netball for Glamorgan and Cardiff counties and representing Wales at Junior European Championships. She still continues to play for her club in Division 1 in  Cardiff. Collette is also a keen runner and takes part in numerous running events through the year with her running club Caerphilly Runners.

Collette has always seen the importance to look after herself by keeping active and has seen the benefit of Chiropractic treatment to keep her at her optimum performance for all activities she takes part in. 

Since treating in private practice Collette has seen how Chiropractic care can help a wide scope of people and conditions, it really is for all ages

Carlotta Chiarcos (Cos)

Carlotta has become part of the team after successfully graduating from the Welsh Institute Of Chiropractic in July 2018,….

Carlotta has become part of the team after successfully graduating from the Welsh Institute Of Chiropractic in July 2018, and she has since integrated her experience through further training in Western Acupuncture with the British Medical Acupuncture Society, and completing her post-graduate training with the Royal Chiropractic College.

She originally became passionate about chiropractic as members of her family found relief through chiropractic care, being able to appreciate the benefits of the treatments on those she loves. 

Determined to learn more about children’s care in the future, her goal for the future is to work with all age groups.

Furthermore, Carlotta particularly enjoys being part of a clinic with a variety of disciplines involved, being an opportunity to exchange opinions and knowledge.

Because of her artistic background, she has always loved theatre, graphic arts and music, which she enjoys in her spare time, involving her family and friends.

Daniel Morgan

Daniel Graduated from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic at the University of South Wales in July 2014…….

Daniel Graduated from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic at the University of South Wales in July 2014. Daniel has been fortunate enough to carry out research and work alongside a number of Premier League clubs and has worked with Pro14 side Southern Kings and currently consults on a session by session bases with Pro14 region Scarlets.

To further improve his knowledge of Sporting Injuries Daniel has completed a MSc in Sport and Exercise Medicine at Cardiff Metropolitan University and is a fully registered and qualified Sonographer having completed a PGCert in MSK Ultrasound and AECC University College, Bournemouth. He is a qualified Internationally Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner (ICCSP) awarded by FICS. This qualification allows chiropractors to treat at a number of events across the world. 

Daniel lectures internationally on Shockwave Therapy for EMS and​ is the co-founder of The Modern Therapist – a course designed to teach MSK therapists on conservative management and rehabilitation of Musculoskeletal conditions. 

Daniel is the Chair of the BCA Student/New Graduate Committee and as a result of his work within the profession and commitment to his professional development, Daniel was the proud recipient of the prestigious Royal College of Chiropractors Graham Heale Memorial Award 2015 for Outstanding PRT Candidate of The Year as well as BCA Chiropractic Associate of the Year 2018.

Daniel has recently been appointed the Director of Academic Affairs for the Sports Faculty of the Royal College of Chiropractors.

John Terrell

John is the Lead Podiatrist/Chiropodist with Happier Feet based at Risca Chiropractic clinic……

John is the Lead Podiatrist/Chiropodist with Happier Feet based at Risca Chiropractic clinic. John has 9 years of experience within Chiropody both within the NHS and the Private Sector.

John completed his 3-year degree at Cardiff Metropolitan University in 2008 and continued his education at Southampton University with further 1-year learning in 2000.

John started working in an NHS Assessment Clinic in Cardiff before beginning his venture into private practice. John is currently the regular podiatrist at 5 Newport based nursing homes. John does offer mobile services when he is not based in the clinic and he covers a wide area ranging from Crumlin to The Coldra and from St Mellons to Machen with the occasional foray into Cwmbran area. 

                                                      John has a  very flexible appointment system and offers both early mornings and late evenings for emergency appointments.

John mostly performs routine chiropody (nail cutting, hard skin removal, corns, verruca treatments) however has a specialist interest in the biomechanics of the foot and also nail surgery.

John has a young family and spends most of my free time with them, but he does, however, try to make some time for his cycling hobby

Daniel is a graduate from Cardiff Metropolitan University with a 2:1 Honours degree in Sports Conditioning, Rehabilitation and Massage…….

Daniel is a graduate from Cardiff Metropolitan University with a 2:1 Honours degree in Sports Conditioning, Rehabilitation and Massage.

Since completing his undergraduate degree, he has since started studying a Masters in Physiotherapy at Birmingham City University.

Daniel has previously worked with Cardiff University Super Rugby Team, Rhiwbina Rugby Club and Thornbury Cricket Club as a soft tissue practitioner and working as a pitch side assistant.

Additionally, he has also worked in the Sports Injury Specialist Clinic in Cardiff which enabled me to work with not just athletes but the general public too.

These experiences has given Daniel a depth of knowledge both the around acute management of injuries as well as the on going rehabilitation of both acute and chronic injuries.
